About Staging

HOME STAGING

Research has shown that potential buyers make a decision within the first few seconds of walking through your front door. They will spend the rest of the tour confirming that decision whether it is favourable or not.  Staging maximizes the impact of those critical first moments to ensure a quick sale.

Jms Home Staging and Design uses a proven set of guidelines, the house is reviewed for ultimate & maximized impact on buyers. Once the recommendations are implemented & completed the home is designated a Staged Home.

Ideally, the home should be staged prior to putting it on the market or having any marketing material created, the reason is simple. Most buyers preview homes online before ever seeing them in person A staged home photographs better than a non-staged home, making it more appealing for both print and internet marketing–enticing buyers to want to see the home in person.

A grey tone on the walls which brightens allowing this space to feel bigger and existing furniture pieces used (from the basement)

  After

This property had oversized furniture and visually appeared dark due to the brown tones on the wall.  The client agreed to painting.  The sectional was old and the client was able to part ways with it and had furniture from the basement that could be used in this area.  A simple and fairly inexpensive fix to a room that initially appeared dark and dated.

BENEFITS OF HOME STAGING

It’s important to appeal to the widest range of people previewing your house, buyers need to be able to imagine themselves living in your house, because buyers only know what they see not the way it is going to be.
Benefits of staging a home

  • Homes sell faster.
  • Less time on the market means lower homeowner costs
  • The first 5 to 7 minutes of viewing a home is the most critical.
  • First impression is critical, home staging creates positive first
impressions.
  • Staged homes sell for more than homes not staged.

INTERIOR DECORATING VS. HOME STAGING

Interior decorating is about identifying a home owner’s personal style and decorating a home with all of their preferences. Staging is not about judging your decorating ability, your taste or your furnishings. It’s about selling a product — your house — and helping buyers to realize its potential and having it appeal to as many buyers as possible. So home staging involves depersonalizing, de-cluttering, and making the décor in a home neutral but still welcoming, warm, and inspiring in order to appeal to a wide range of people viewing your home.
